Texas Hold'em Tournaments

To be able to take part in a poker tournament you have to pay an entrance fee (buy- in). There might be a large number of players in the Texas Hold'em tournament. For that reason, poker tournaments are played simultaneously at several tables. A tournament may last for days. Usually, you will have breaks for eating and a few hours at night so you can go home and sleep. As the tournament proceeds the tables and players decreases. The last table is called the final table and usually sets 10 players. At the end one player is left and is also the winner of first prize. Usually, more players then the winner win money. Compare to a Cash Game you only risk the buy-in and you can not stop playing when you want as in a Cash Game.

The biggest and most famous tournament is World Series of Poker (WSOP). It is a huge poker tournament played in Las Vegas where a lot of money is at stake.
